Established in 1955, Anderson Tree Care is a family-owned & run tree care company.

From its humble beginnings as a one-man operation, the company now operates nationally from its base in Derbyshire and currently employs over 15 fully-qualified & accredited arborists, consultants & associated staff.

As a company, we are driven by the desire, not only to maintain the UK’s tree heritage but also, to provide cost-effective solutions for all tree related issues, to the highest standard & to the complete satisfaction of our clients.

We are proud to offer a comprehensive range of professional tree care services for the commercial sector & private tree owners alike, majoring on amenity woodland management, veteran tree care and difficult access operations.

In tandem with the ‘routine’ arboricultural services we offer, we also have considerable expertise in the many associated disciplines – ranging from forestry & timber extraction & haulage through to landscape design & management, invasive weed control and tree planting.

History of Anderson Tree Care

1955

Anderson Tree Care begins when Henry Anderson starts woodland work around Derbyshire. His sons Bill, Bob and Richard also join the industry.

1979

Bob begins Anderson Tree Care as a weekend operation whilst working for Sheffield City Parks and Woodlands.

1981

Bob Anderson earns the National Certificate in Arboriculture and while foreman for Sheffield City Council earns the Forestry Society’s Master in Arboriculture, which over time evolved into the Professional Diploma in Arboriculture.

1987

A now infamous storm sweeps the UK. Bob leaves Sheffield City Council to assist clearing fallen trees with Southern Tree Surgeons Ltd. (STS) across Suffolk and Norfolk, as well as in Ireland, Scotland and Germany. During this period, Anderson Tree Care becomes one of the few companies using mobile cranes to assist with taking trees down.

1988

The then Northern Manager of Southern Tree Surgeons, Peter Scott, engages Anderson Tree Care to carry out contracts. This develops into a long-lasting relationship for more than 15 years.

1991

Anderson Tree Care customer base expands and the company becomes a framework contractor for the English Heritage and continues to work to protect heritage sites around the north of England to the present day.

2007

Following the Sheffield floods of 2007, Anderson Tree Care is hired by the Environment Agency to carry out a major project ensuring the security of the city’s river banks. Bob uses his experience of cranes, in this case taking advantage of them to work on hard-to-access trees along the River Don.

2013

Anderson Tree Care becomes an Arboriculture Association Approved Contractor in the Sheffield area and now operates to ISO 9001/14001 standards.

Now

Anderson Tree Care continues to provide expert tree services around the Sheffield, Chesterfield, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire Lincolnshire and Derbyshire areas. Our client list includes the National Trust, English Heritage, the Environment Agency, Chatsworth Estate, Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, Sheffield City Council and other local authorities.
